Gravity Brew Works

Gravity BrewWorks is an independently owned nanobrewery in Big Flat, in north central Arkansas, run by longtime homebrewers who had been brewing since 1980 before opening their own place. Head brewer Bill Riffle, an award winner, works alongside assistant brewer Tony Guinn. The brewery opened on November 1, 2013, on a 1-barrel system and later moved up to a 2.5-barrel system. Each beer starts from a recipe the brewers develop themselves and is made in small batches, so a given style will be close to the last batch but never quite identical. The lineup has included amber ale, IPA, stout, porter and Oktoberfest. Beer can be sampled in the tasting room and taken home in growlers and grumblers. Batches are small, so the brewery suggests calling ahead before a long drive. It does not serve food, but guests may bring their own.
