SQZBX Brewery

SQZBX, pronounced “squeeze box,” is a brewery and pizza joint in Hot Springs, set in the historic Davis Piano building on Ouachita Avenue. Owners Zac and Cheryl spotted the old Davis Piano sign soon after moving to town in 2003 and met Joe Davis, a piano tuner with a large collection of antique musical oddities. When he retired, they bought the building and everything in it. At the time they were a touring tuba-accordion duo, playing float trips, circus tours and the stage at the BrauHaus. They helped launch the solar-powered community station KUHS-LP 102.5 FM in 2015, then turned the rest of the building into SQZBX, reusing Joe’s relics as structure and decor in a careful historic renovation that kept the original tin ceiling. The brewery is on site, and beer is sold to go, even on Sundays.
